Greif enthusiastic in Lyon Mikautadze courted in Germany and France

Dominik Greif, the new OL goaltender, expressed his great satisfaction at his arrival in Lyon. The Slovak international, recruited at the Olympique de Marseille for 4 million euros, stressed the importance of the confidence it feels from the club. He was particularly impressed by the infrastructure and organisation of OL, now saying “part of something big”. Greif also mentioned his previous research on the club, including discussions with players such as Sergi Darder, Tino Kadewere and Clement Grenier, who have evolved there. He was seduced by the praise he received for the city, stadium, fans and the overall atmosphere of the club, finding exactly what he had been told.

The arrival of Domiink Greif marks an important reinforcement for OL’s offensive sector, while leaders and supporters have resigned to Malick Fofana’s loss. Georges Mikautadze, the Georgian striker, is very attached to his club and has not hesitated to express his affection for OL on every occasion. However, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the talented scorer is very courted in Germany, as Eintracht Frankfurt is particularly interested and wants to make it a priority. The German club will not make an offer until Elye Wahi, an undesirable player, leaves OL.

In parallel to the German interest, two French clubs, including Rennes and Paris FC, also contacted Georges Mikautadze. Nevertheless, the attacker refused to leave OL, faithful to his attachment to the Lyon club. This situation creates some concern in Lyon, as their “King” is actively courted by clubs across the Rhine. For Domiink Greif, this season is crucial, as he aspires to compete in the World Cup in 2026, after having been back from national selections since 2020. He considered that OL could be the necessary step to regain their place in the national team.
