Greif arrives OL Patouillet looking for the future and Giraldez evaluates the team

Olympique Lyonnais (OL) is about to strengthen its staff with the arrival of DomiNik Greif, creating an issue in the position of goaltender. This arrival highlights the situation of Mathieu Patouillet, a club-trained player, who is encouraged to leave OL. The club offers two options: a loan in Ligue 2 with many interested clubs, or a sale to a Gulf club. Patouillet, after two successful seasons on loan at Sochaux where he made 65 games, 22 of which without cashing in goal, had only few opportunities in Lyon’s first team, having played only 17 minutes in the final game of preparation against Bayern Munich.

OL begin their pre-season with a series of three friendly games, starting this Saturday against the Servette FC. This preparation period is crucial for Jonatan Giraldez, the new coach, who seeks to assess the team’s potential after his arrival at the club. The team composition for this first friendly match includes young players from the academy, as well as new recruits like Albert, Yohannes, Korbi and Lily. The main objective of these games is to test different combinations and prepare the team for the coming season.

Meanwhile, former OL player Matteo Comaret is now playing at the Stade Lavallois in Ligue 2. In an interview, he expressed the importance of playing against Saint-ร‰tienne, one of his former rivals. OL youth teams are also preparing for the new season, with intensive training and friendly tournaments. The U19 and U17 still have two weeks to refine their automations before the start of the championship. They will play several friendly matches against teams from the south of France, including Valencia and Montpellier, in order to prepare for the upcoming season.
