Panichelli to Strasbourg an imminent transfer

According to the Spanish sports newspaper Marca, football player Joaquin Panichelli will not participate in the pre-season training of his team, the Alavés. This absence strongly suggests an imminent transfer to the Racing Club in Strasbourg. Panichelli’s departure to Strasbourg took shape, after an initial interest expressed in early May, as reported by the Argentine press and the Italian journalist specializing in mercato, Matteo Moretto. The Alsatian club followed closely the 22-year-old attacker, currently under contract with the Alavés, who had been loaned to Mirandés last season and had achieved a notable season with 21 goals and 8 assists in 44 games.

Initially, Strasbourg’s interest in Panichelli was not a priority because of the high price charged by the Alavés, i.e. EUR 20 million, corresponding to its liberating clause. However, more recent sources, including the journalist from mercato Fabrizio Romano, indicate that Strasbourg is about to reach an agreement with the Alavés for an amount of EUR 16 million over a five-year contract. This new, more affordable financial offer makes Racing more willing to negotiate and conclude the transaction.

The absence of Joaquin Panichelli during the pre-season internship of the Alavés confirms this trend and reinforces Strasbourg’s hope of recruiting him this week. The Alsatian club looked forward to this arrival and now seems close to achieving its goal. Panichelli’s transfer to Strasbourg represents a significant boost for the club, which seeks to strengthen its attack with a promising young talent.
