Revelli hopes a renewal for ASSE with Kilmer Sports Ventures

Patrick Revelli, a legend of AS Saint-Étienne, spoke about the new direction of the club in an interview granted to Tribune Verte. The former attacker, who carried the green jersey 288 times and scored 81 goals, criticized in particular the co-presidency of Caïazzo and Romeyer, considering that it had been too long and that they had not respected their commitment not to make any added value on the club. He then expressed some optimism about the arrival of Kilmer Sports Ventures, wishing to give them time to demonstrate their ability to redress the sporting situation, in particular by considering the club’s sound financial position as a major asset.

Revelli recognizes the disappointment of last season, but is encouraging in the face of the future. He stressed that the current financial situation of ASSE, with its full caisses, was a positive factor which could lead to improved performance on the ground. It compares this favourable situation with that of certain clubs in difficulty, where financial problems limit investment and sports prospects. The former player is therefore convinced that the new leadership has the potential to do good work and lead the club towards a return to League 1.

At the same time, ASSE continues to degrease its summer workforce. Dylan Batubinsika, a central defender, is one of the players likely to leave the club. Despite his confidence maintained by the breeder of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, there does not seem to be any way out for him, despite club approaches in Turkey, Qatar, Greece and Israel. The Congolese national team, together with Batubinsika, is currently at the top of his pool for qualifying at the next World Cup, crucial matches to come in September.
