Restructured Stade Rennais to optimize next season

Stade Rennais FC is experiencing a significant movement in its summer workforce, marked by several departures and loans. Defender Leo Ostigard was loaned to the Genoa with option to purchase for next season, just like Albert Gronbaek. These decisions are part of a desire to reduce the size of the team, considered too important for the coming season. Ostigard, originally included in the summer preparation of the SRFC, finally favoured this opportunity in Italy.

At the same time, other players are about to leave the club. Mohamed Jaouaab and Alan Do Marcolino should be transferred without transfer compensation, but with a percentage on their resale value. Jaouaab, also initially exempted from summer preparation, is reportedly in negotiation with Real Valladolid in the second Spanish division, according to L’Equipe. Do Marcolino, however, is on the way to join Lusitania FC Lourosa, also in second division, according to Le Parisien.

These successive departures reflect a restructuring of the Stade Rennais. The club’s management aims to optimize its workforce for the next season, by getting rid of players deemed superfluous or by offering them development opportunities elsewhere. These movements, although painful for the club, are a common practice in professional football and aim to ensure the sustainability and competitiveness of the CFRS.
