Racing Strasbourg strengthens its staff for the new season

According to information obtained from the DNA this Sunday evening, the two new recruits of the Racing, Pope Demba Diop and Soumaïla Coulbaly, are expected tomorrow, Monday, for the resumption of the training for the new season. This recovery, which will take place at Racing Soprema Park, promises to surprise the fans. The arrival of 21-year-old central defender Soumaïla Coulibaly from Borussia Dortmund is indirectly confirmed by the DNA. The player, who moved to the Stade Brestois last season, will join his new teammates in Strasbourg. Although he was part of the Dortmund group at the World Cup of Clubs, he had no time to play. A transfer to England was originally envisaged, but a loan in Alsace was finally preferred, as Fabrizio Romano had recently announced, with a direct purchase by the Racing Club in Strasbourg for 7.5 million euros.

Pope Demba Diop, the 21-year-old Senegalese midfielder, will also be present for the recovery. He was recruited by Racing at the end of June, after moving to Zulte Waregem in Belgium. His remarkable performances, including 6 goals and 4 assists in 28 matches played out of 29, allowed him to win the title of champion and the rise of the club in the Jupiler Pro League. He was also elected the best player in the Belgian second division last season. He was loaned last season to Stade Brestois (7 games of L1, 8 games of Champions League, 1 match of Coupe de France) and then to Antwerp in Belgium the previous season.

Soumaila Coulibaly’s signature is expected by Tuesday night. The arrival of these two players considerably strengthens the Racing staff for the new season. The acquisition of Coulibaly, a promising central defender, and the recruitment of Diop, a talented midfielder, attest to the club’s ambition to maintain and advance in Ligue 1. These two new recruits are expected to bring positive dynamics and increased competition to the team.
