Nice strengthens its identity and aims at the Champions League

As the crucial match against Benfica Lisbon approached, the GOC Nice unveiled a new design for its stadium, the Allianz Riviera, incorporating elements of Nice identity. This initiative, a result of summer work, aims to strengthen the sense of belonging of supporters and to highlight the history and culture of the city. Symbols such as the “Mefi”, the Nice eagle, as well as references to the Promenade des Anglais, the Old Nice and the port, have been incorporated into the stadium’s decoration, especially on the pillars and stairs leading to the various levels. Street art by Nice artists also adorned common spaces, creating a unique cultural and artistic space for enthusiasts.

In parallel to this aesthetic transformation, the OGC Nice is preparing for a decisive match against Stade Rennais, as part of the 33rd day of Ligue 1. This meeting, which will take place in Rennes, is crucial for the Aiglons, who seek to consolidate their place in the qualifying race for the Champions League. The team, currently fourth in the rankings, must remain in this perspective. Despite a positive score on the move, with six wins, five draws and five losses, coach Franck Haise will have to deal with several absences, including those of Mohamed Abdelmone, Youssouf Ndayi, Baptiste Santamaria and Tanguy Ndombele.

Stade Rennais, on the other hand, has little stake in this meeting, currently occupying 11th place in Ligue 1 after a disappointing season marked by the change of coach. The Breton team remains on two consecutive championship losses, the last on the Toulouse field. The GOC Nice will therefore have to show determination and combativity in order to win in Rennes, while relying on the support of its supporters and the Nice identity put forward in its stadium. The game, which will take place on Saturday at 9 p.m., promises to be an important challenge for the Aiglons in their quest for a European qualification.
