Rennes won his third game of preparation against Nantes (3-2), after a draw against Saint-Bréuc and a defeat against Brest. This match, played in camera, marked the first with the Rennes jersey of Valentin Rongier, a former Nantes player. Rongier started the encounter in a three-way field, alongside Ludovic Blas and Seko Fofana, in a system that proved effective in the first half. Nantes reduced the distance to a quarter of an hour from the end of the match thanks to Lepenant, but Rennes managed to keep its lead until the end of the game. This victory in preparation precedes a heavy programme for the Rennais, who will face the Real Sociedad in two games, then the Genoa at home on August 9, before the start of the Ligue 1 against Marseille on August 15.
