OM mercato: Peaceão Bennacer Zhegrova challenges and challenges

The club of Olympique de Marseille crosses a busy summer mercato, with complex negotiations and notable arrivals. One of the most monitored cases concerns Edoën Zhegrova, an offensive community in Lille, courted by OM. Despite Marseille interest and the involvement of former teammate Timothy Weah, the LOSC seems determined to keep it, with a possible extension of the contract under discussion. OM has not yet made a concrete offer, but a start could be made if the LOSC receives an offer of more than €20 million. The recent arrival of Felix Correia, Marius Broholm and Olivier Giroud does not create an emergency sale for Lille.

Another current issue is the arrival of Brazilian striker Igor Paixão, the most expensive recruit in OM history. Boudewijn Zenden, a former midfielder from Marseille and consultant in the Netherlands, warns against too high expectations. He stressed Peaceão’s potential, speed, dribbling talent and ability to score, but insisted on the difficulty of adapting to the pressure and physical level of League 1. Learning French is considered essential for its success, as well as adapting to the game system and to the particular atmosphere of the Marseille club.

Finally, OM does not give up its interest in Ismaël Bennacer, middle ground of AC Milan. Despite a mixed loan during his last season in Marseille, the club submitted a new offer, rejected by Milan who does not want to separate from his player. The original purchase option was considered too high, and OM expects a new loan to recover it. Bennacer, although losing his pace and suffering some injuries, remains a priority for strengthening the Marseille midfielder.
