ASSE Match zero disappointing but hope for the next

The ASSE team conceded a disappointing draw against Laval, despite a promising initial resistance. Coach Eirik Horneland highlighted the difficulties encountered in the first half, including an early goal from Tchokounté, but also praised the team’s ability to return to the score through individual actions such as that of Irvin Cardonna. However, a return from the locker room saw Laval take the lead, followed by a late goal from Claureul that sealed the draw (3-3). Horneland expressed its willingness to learn from this meeting and focus on future challenges, emphasizing the team’s potential when fully operational.

The preparation of ASSE for this season was marked by the integration of three new players and a meeting with the referees, thus providing an opportunity to give instructions and get to know each other. The new recruits had the opportunity to visit the Green Museum, generating the particular enthusiasm of João Ferreira who expressed his admiration for the history and atmosphere of the club. The integration was also done on the human level, with the joy of Aïmen Moueffek to find his Ghanaian teammate, Ebenzer Annaan.

The players expressed frustration at this draw, regretting not getting the three points. Despite the disappointment, they highlighted the positive aspects of performance, including the mastery of the game and the number of opportunities created. The team is aware of the need to capitalize on these strengths and improve the aspects to work on. The main objective remains to start the season at home with a victory, relying on the support of their loyal audience.
