The LOSC is about to know the departure of its goaltender, Lucas Chevalier, who is committed to Paris Saint-Germain. This transfer represents an important financial opportunity for the Lille club, with a potential added value of more than 50 million euros. In order to fill this gap, LOSC management is actively exploring two Dutch profiles to ensure continuity in this key position.
Currently, the LOSC has initiated discussions with Jeffrey De Lange, the goalkeeper of the Olympique de Marseille. Although he has been mainly lining Geronimo Rulli since his arrival in August 2024, De Lange is highly appreciated in-house for his professionalism, quality of play at the foot and reliability. Preliminary contacts have already been established with his entourage, while his contract with OM runs until 2027. Interest in De Lange has intensified in recent days, due to Chevalier’s uncertain contractual situation.
At the same time, the LOSC also showed interest in Robin Roefs, a 22-year goaltender at NEC Nijmegen in the Netherlands. International Dutch Espoirs, Roefs achieved a notable season with 10 clean sheets in 33 matches all competitions combined and is under contract until 2028. Discussions are ongoing between the LOSC and its team, although no formal offer has yet been submitted to its club. The final decision on the next LOSC goaltender will depend on confirmation of Lucas Chevalier’s transfer to the PSG, which is expected to take place in the coming days. Both tracks remain open, as the LOSC accelerates its mercato to secure a successor before the start of the season.
