Lens: Massive absence, uncertain future

#Lens will try to get back after the defeat against Stade Brestois

The RC Lens is preparing for a dangerous trip to the Stade Brestois next weekend. The Lensian team, which suffered a bitter defeat against the Stade de Reims (0-2) at Stade Felix Bollaert, will have to remobilize to try to bounce back into the Armorica.

Will Still, the Lens coach, will face a highly compromised group situation. Several players are in the game, including Juma Bah (head), Jhoanner Chรกvez (cheville), Rรฉmy Labeau-Lascary (genu) and Denis Petric (back). An additional blow is the suspension of Deiver Machado, the club’s usual left side.

Among the absences, there is also the case of Hervรฉ Koffi, relegated to reserve, as well as M’Bala Nzola and Martin Satriano, dismissed by choice of coach in recovery phase.

The fate of M’Bala Nzola, loaned with option to purchase by the Fiorentina, is uncertain. The Angolan striker, already dismissed by Will Still, is no longer part of the Belgian technician’s plans, because of his behaviour, pointed to the finger. It is likely that this is the end of his passage in the Artois, and that he will not be seen by the end of the season. These massive absences suggest significant changes in Will Still’s strategy and may influence the decisions made at the next mercato.
