The Havre Athletic Club is preparing for a third consecutive season in Ligue 1, a performance never before seen since the beginning of the 20th century. The team came close to relegation, ensuring that it remained in the final seconds of the final game thanks to a decisive penalty of Abdoulaye Traorรฉ, allowing a 3-2 victory in Strasbourg. This relief marked a major turning point for the club, with the acquisition by the American investment group Blue Crow Sports Group, which already owns clubs in Spain and Mexico. The new owners aim to consolidate the position of the HAC in Ligue 1, aiming for a mid-table position.
As part of its summer mercato, Le Havre maintains a cautious approach. Several players whose contracts are coming to an end have not been renewed, including goaltenders Desmaas and Gorgelin, defender Ballo-Tourรฉ, the Kouziayev community, and attackers Ayew and Casimir. However, the club managed to recruit new players, with the arrival of goaltender Diaw (from Clermont), defender Delaine (Strasbourg), and attackers Mambimbi (Saint-Gall, Belgium) and Kyeremeh (Caen).
The team resumed training on 7 July and conducted an internship in Brittany, in Arzon, from 12 to 19 July. This stage resulted in a 1-0 loss to Le Mans (L2), followed by a 0-0 draw against Angers (L1). Before the start of the season, Le Havre will face Paris FC and Deportivo La Corogne (Spain), before opening the championship with a trip to Monaco. These preparatory matches are essential to fine-tune the strategy and prepare the competition as best as possible.
