Following each meeting played by the LOSC, fans are invited to evaluate the players’ performances, thus designating a “Men of the Match”. In the recent victory in Toulouse (1-2), the goaltender, Lucas Chevalier, was honoured by this jury, stressing its decisive role in preserving the result. This system, initiated at the beginning of the 2024-2025 season, allows the Lille community to select four players who have most influenced the match, either positively or negatively, thus contributing to the award of the prestigious title of “Dogue of the Year”, previously won by Lucas Chevalier himself.
Despite the victory in Toulouse, the performance of the LOSC was not unanimously welcomed, and Lucas Chevalier again had to intervene significantly by multiplying the stops in the second act. Beyond his excellence, Captain Benjamin André and attacker MatÃas Fernandez-Pardo, author of the opening score, were also positively noticed. On the other hand, Jonathan David’s lack of success has been criticized. The scores awarded by the fans had a significant impact on the overall ranking, influencing the race as “Doug of the Year”.
The current rankings reveal a significant advance of Lucas Chevalier over his direct competitor, Hakon Haraldsson, while Benjamin André is comfortably in third place. Jonathan David, for his part, is facing increasing pressure from Alexsandro and MatÃas Fernandez-Pardo, the latter having increased by three places thanks to his goal. Below in the ranking, Ethan Mbappé is now ahead of Nabil Bentaleb, testifying to the constant dynamics and importance of individual performances in the minds of Lille fans.
