Embolo in Rennes Major offensive reinforcement for next season

According to the information relayed by the team and West France, a transfer agreement has materialised between Rennes and Monaco concerning player Breel Embolo. The striker should sign a four-season contract with the Breton club on Monday. This signature comes as the transfer window closes, but Rennes’ operations are not yet complete. After a series of unsuccessful negotiations with Conrad Harder, the Rennes club finally decided not to continue its efforts to recruit this player.

Rennes seems to have finalized its last offensive reinforcement for the summer season. Following the transfer of Esteban Lepaul, already a scorer last weekend, Breel Embolo is expected to join Stade Rennais on Monday. The transfer, including bonuses, would amount to 15 million euros for the 28-year-old Swiss player, who previously moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach. Several other departures are planned within the Breton club, which has undertaken a major clearance operation during the summer mercato.

Among the players likely to leave the club are Glen Kamara, Hans Hateboer and Mikail Faye. The latter should be loaned with option to purchase from Cremonese in Italy, while Ayanda Sishuba would be transferred to Montpellier. These transfers should be formalized this Monday. Moreover, M’Baye Niang, after having spent half a season at Wydad Casablanca and then another at Sampdoria, signed with GençlerbirliÄŸi SK, a Turkish first division club. This new transfer marks the 15th club of his career.
