ASSE organized an internal quiz on the history and culture of the club, led by Thomas Tardieu and Ibrahim Jaber, the new summer recruit. Jaber, quickly becoming a valuable player thanks to his performance against Rodez, faced Tardieu in a friendly competition. The event, captured in video, revealed a surprise: Jaber seemed to know the history of the club intimately, sparking the fun and agitation of Tardieu. This humorous sequence, full of good faith and self-derision, was designed to entertain fans.
The summer of the ASSE was marked by a significant downsizing, a priority for Kilmer Sports. Several departures were recorded, including players at the end of the contract and transferred elements, allowing the integration of new recruits in line with the club’s project and offering play time to young talent like Luan Gadegbeeku. Additional departures are still possible, with Yvann Macรงon, Benjamen Bouchouaari and Dylan Batubinsika looking for new projects. Batubinsika, key player in the rise of ASSE, is particularly courted, but refuses the offers of Turkey and the Gulf countries.
In anticipation of the League 2 match against Bologna-sur-Mer, coach Eirik Horneland highlighted the fitness and versatility of the players at his disposal. He mentioned the possibility of using Joshua Duffus on the wing and seeing Lucas, more focused on the role of leading attacker, and Duffus playing together. Horneland also highlighted the advantage of having many options to adapt team composition and create impacting changes during the games. He highlighted the motivation and healthy competition between the players, while noting that he does not think all players are ready to play 90 minutes and that it is possible to see several key players in the field in the next game.
