Following a violent shock with teammate Alejandro Jimenez in the AC Milan match with Udinese, goaltender Mike Maignan was forced to spend the night at the hospital. The incident occurred as he made a bold exit outside his surface, causing him to collapse on the ground. Quickly taken care of by Theo Hernandez, who alerted the medical staff, Maignan received first aid directly on the lawn before being evacuated on stretcher and transported to the hospital, conscious but requiring a thorough assessment.
Medical examinations during the evening have fortunately ruled out any serious head trauma, despite the brutal impact. To ensure careful monitoring, Mike Maignan remained under observation throughout the night, a precautionary measure dictated by the nature of the event. AC Milan communicated this Saturday morning in order to reassure about the state of health of its French international, pointing out that he was able to leave the hospital and is now at home.
The Lombard club said Mike Maignan will have to observe a strict rest until next Tuesday, when new medical examinations will be conducted. This temporary unavailability, however, should not compromise its participation in future deadlines, notably the semi-final return of the Italian Cup against the Inter, thus providing a potential breath of fresh air for a season until then disappointing.
