Lyon targets Traoré and Greif two complex recruitments

Olympique Lyonnais is showing growing interest in Hamed Junior Traoré, a midfielder in Bournemouth, as part of an active mercato. The 25-year-old Ivorian international, recognized for his aggressive versatility, particularly seduced Lyon after a convincing season in Auxerre where he played 26 games and scored 10 goals. Although OL expressed its interest, negotiations are expected to be complex. Discussions between the two clubs are currently in disagreement, Bournemouth favouring a definitive transfer while Lyon is considering a loan option, a proposal considered too high by the Lyon management taking into account the estimated market value of Traoré at 20 million euros.

In parallel to this track, Olympique Lyonnais continues his search for a goaltender and target Dominik Greif, currently at the RC Deportivo de Mallorca. Following the departure of Lucas Perri, the club intensified its efforts to recruit a new number one. Despite a difficult financial situation, Lyon made several offers to the Spanish club in order to convince it to divest its guardian. The last proposal, amounting to €4 million with potential bonuses of up to €5 million, represents a significant effort for the Lyon club, while Mallorca claims a fixed amount of at least €5 million.

Domiik Greif’s determination to join Lyon is palpable, illustrated by his absence from training this Wednesday morning, justified by a left leg problem. This situation underlines the importance of this recruit for OL and the player’s willingness to engage with the club. The realisation of these two recruitment paths remains uncertain, depending on Lyon’s ability to overcome financial obstacles and the willingness of the respective clubs to reach an agreement.
