Benama leaves Monaco for Annecy a new opportunity in Ligue 2

AS Monaco has formalized the transfer of its young midfielder, Mayssam Benama, to FC Annecy. This announcement was made on the club’s social networks, confirming his departure for a new professional adventure. The 20-year-old has signed a three-year contract with Ligue 2 which currently ranks 14th in the championship, binding him until June 30, 2028.

Mayssam Benama arrived at AS Monaco in 2020 and was under contract until 2026 with the Principality club. Despite this period, he never managed to break into the first team and had no opportunity to play a professional game. His career in the club took place mainly in the youth teams.

During his visit to Monaco, Mayssam Benama demonstrated his talent by participating in 26 meetings with Team U19, where he scored 8 goals. This assessment demonstrates its potential and its development within the Monaco training centre. The transfer to FC Annecy represents another important step in his career, offering him the opportunity to save playing time and progress in Ligue 2.
