Monaco renounces Bakayoko in the face of European competition

The AS Monaco, after initially showing a keen interest in the young PSV player Eindhoven, Johan Bakayoko, seems to have abandoned this track. The Monegasque club is currently very active in the transfer market, as evidenced by its recent acquisitions of Eric Dier, Paul Pogba and Ansu Fati. The Monegasque leadership’s objective is to strengthen the workforce and therefore continues to explore new opportunities to achieve this. Johan Bakayoko, 22 years old, was considered a priority target, but this possibility has gradually faded.

Several European clubs have recently entered into negotiations with the PSV Eindhoven concerning the transfer of Johan Bakayoko. These clubs include Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig, Everton, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest. The PSV Eindhoven would be willing to sell its young talent for a price of 20 million euros, with potential bonuses. This strong competition has made Monaco less likely to succeed in securing the services of the Belgian, international field environment with 18 selections.

The performance of Johan Bakayoko last season, where he was involved in 15 actions leading to a goal (12 goals and 3 assists), generated Monaco’s interest. However, in the face of the growing enthusiasm of other clubs and the desire of the PSV Eindhoven to sell, Monaco is no longer among the main contenders for recruiting the player. The current situation indicates that the transfer of Bakayoko could take place with another European club.
