The ASSE will travel to the Paris region on the 13th day of Ligue 2, to face the Red Star in Saint-Ouen on Saturday November 1st at 8 pm. This meeting marks an important shift for the Greens, who seek to confirm their status in Ligue 2 after their promotion two seasons ago under the direction of Habib Beye. The Red Star, for its part, aims to establish itself permanently in this division, after having experienced difficulties of stability in its previous attempts. This confrontation is particularly notable since the ASSE and the Red Star have rarely met in recent decades, with only two meetings recorded since 2000.
The history of direct confrontations between ASSE and the Red Star in the championship dates back to the 1996/97, 1997/98 and 1998/99 seasons, where Saint-รtienne’s record was in favour of three victories, two draws and one defeat. Their last match in the Coupe de France dates back to February 2015, in the eighth in the final where the ASSE won 2-1 thanks to a free kick at the end of the game. Another League Cup match, also in the eighth of the final, saw the Red Star win 3-1 in Chauron.
The meeting between the ASSE and the Red Star will be broadcasted on beIN Sports’ antennas, with the multiplex on beIN SPORTS 1 and the full matches on beIN SPORTS MAX 4 from Friday 31 October at 8 p.m. to Monday 3 November at 8.45 p.m. This Ligue 2 day also includes other important games, such as Montpellier Hรฉrault SC โ Rodez Aveyron Football, Le Mans FC โ AS Nancy-Lorraine, and Stade de Reims โ USL Dunkirk, which will also be broadcast on beIN Sports.
