The current season of AS Saint-Étienne is marked by an exceptional popular craze, with more than 20,000 subscriptions already reserved before the start of the season. The demand for places in North and South Kop, the most popular fora, is particularly strong, these areas being the heart of the ultras and loyal supporters. This influx reflects the resilience of the green soul and the hope of an ambitious season, with fans actively participating in the atmosphere of the matches through spectacular tifos, long songs and massive movements. Aware of this fervour, the club’s management has put in place initiatives to retain subscribers, including preferential rates, payment facilities and exclusive events with players, thus strengthening the link between the team and its support base.
Beyond the Kops, all the stands at Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium benefit from this enthusiasm, with a notable return of families, young people and former supporters. The atmosphere in the stadium is electric, each goal being celebrated as a historical moment. This atmosphere potentially contributes to the team’s sporting performance, as players evolve in an intimidating stadium for opponents. Faced with the popularity of seats in Kop, ASSE restricted access to the purchase to the only subscribers of the current season from the 2025/2026 season, a decision that restricted access to these iconic areas to the general public.
As every year, ASSE must face the selection of players who do not retain their place in the club. These young talents, often trained at the Robert-Herbine Sports Centre, continue their journey in various clubs, whether in U19 Nationals, seniors or abroad. Among the players who have not been renewed are Mathys Sabaan, El Hadji Dieye, and many others. Farès Ben Rahem, right side born in 2007, has found a new project in Italy, committing to the ASD Heraclea Calcio, evolving in Serie D. The Italian club salutes Ben Rahem’s talent and football maturity, expressing confidence in his ability to bring satisfaction to the team.
