GOC Nice is currently looking for a new central defender, a top priority for the club during this summer mercato. This quest is motivated by several factors, including the long absences of Youssouf Ndayi, Mohamed Abdelmounem and Moïse Bombito, who was injured in a tibia micro-fissure and was not likely to return to the land until September at the earliest. Franck Haise has little central defence resources, with Dante, Antoine Mendy and Juma Bah as main options, MelvÃn Bardet and Pablo Rosario also being able to fill this position. The Nice coach insists on the need to strengthen the defensive axis with an axial gaming system.
Recruitment efforts are currently focused on Kojo Peprah Oppoong, IFK Norrkoping player. The Nice GOC would have submitted a first offer, but the Swedish club would be greedy and negotiations were blocked. At the same time, the club is about to lose several players. Gaëtan Laborde is expected to join Al-Diraiyah FC in Saudi Arabia, an operation that could bring 5 million euros to the Nice GOC. Pablo Rosario, whose start is facilitated by an exit voucher, would be targeted by FC Porto, a club recently trained by Francesco Farioli, former coach of the OGC Nice who particularly appreciates the player.
Finally, the GOC Nice formalized the transfer of Ayoub Amraoui to Al-Ahli Sports in Qatar, an operation estimated at about one million euros. The young defender, produced from the Nice training centre, was on loan in Martigues last season. These player movements reflect a transition period for the Nice GCO, aimed at restructuring its workforce and strengthening key positions for the coming season.
