Renais strengthens its workforce and anticipates major departures

The Stade Rennais formalized the third recruit of its summer mercato with the arrival of Przemyśław Frankowski, right winger of Galatasaray. The operation, a one-season loan with extension option, represents an important reinforcement for the Breton club, especially after the departure of Lorenz Assignon. This signature is the result of a long-term recruitment work led by the sports management and the technical staff, who praised the player’s complete, technical and mentally strong profile. Frankowski’s arrival is seen as a major opportunity for the club, perfectly in line with the game philosophy advocated by the coach.

However, Stade Rennais is also considering several departures. According to L’Équipe, four players could leave the club soon: Baptiste Santamaria, Andres Gomez, Kazeem Olaigbe and Warmed Omari. Warmed Omari would be particularly targeted by the German club Hamburg, while Andres Gomez could join the Brazilian club Vasco de Gama or Corinthians. Baptiste Santamaria would be approaching Valencia, and Kazeem Olaigbe should fly to Trabzonspor.

If these movements take place, Stade Rennais will have to find solutions for other players who are not retained, including Ayanda Sishuba, Glen Kamara and Alan Do Marca. All these operations could result in a total transfer of more than EUR 10 million to the Breton club, demonstrating its sustained activity in the transfer market and its willingness to renew its workforce.
