Angers SCO was defeated by the LOSC (0-2) in this Sunday’s game, allowing his direct competitors to take the lead in the fight for the maintenance. The Angels must now fight for their survival in Ligue 1.
Angevin coach Alexandre Dujeux expressed frustration after the game, noting that his team had missed two great opportunities in the first minutes of the game: “Football is efficiency. And when you have two such big occasions and we don’t convert any, it’s complicated for a team like us.”
Even being numerically superior for almost thirty minutes, Angers failed to create more danger on the Lille cages. Dujeux regretted the lack of spontaneity of his team: “We had to send a lot of balloons, create uncertainty, crisis situations for the Lilles.”
The goaltender, Yahia Fofana, also expressed frustration after the game: “It is a frustrating defeat. We made a good start to the game, but we can’t make our two very frank occasions come true.” He also warned his teammates about the critical situation the team is in.
Angers SCO, who must now react and fight to the end to ensure his retention in Ligue 1, is on the rise.
