Olivier Létang led a wise recruitment policy for LOSC during this summer mercato. Despite several major departures, including Jonathan David, Angel Gomes and Edoan Zhegrova, the club expanded with notable arrivals. One can mention the acquisition of the experienced Chancel Mbemba, but also the signatures of Berké Özer, Romain Perraud, Nathan Ngoy, Olivier Girod, Félix Correia and Marius Broholm. These reinforcements demonstrate Létang’s ability to meet the club’s needs and maintain a competitive workforce.
A particularly successful recruitment is that of Haimza Igamane, a young Moroccan international attacker who arrived from the Glasgow Rangers for about 11 million euros. This transfer, controlled with patience and determination by Létang, promises to boost the Lille attack. Moreover, the arrival of Congolese central defender Chancel Mbemba, a player free from any contract after his departure from OM, reinforces the team’s experience in all positions.
Finally, LOSC also relied on reference players, such as the left side or Indonesian central defender Calvin Verdonk, former NEC Nijmegen star. These three reinforcements, Haimza Igamane, Chancel Mbemba and Calvin Verdonk, represented a total investment of EUR 14 million for LOSC for the purpose of mercato. This recruitment strategy, praised by coach Bruno Genesio, is an encouraging sign for the future of the club.
