Barcola became a central element of the team following the departure of Kylian Mbappé, achieving a remarkable season, displaying an impressive record of 18 goals and 16 assists from all competitions, thus consolidating his role in the Parisian club despite three years of contract still to be honoured.

The presence of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, evolving in a role similar to that of Barcola, seems to be a determining factor in the player’s hesitation. In accordance with a directive introduced by Luis Campos, the club has taken the habit of not starting negotiations for an extension until the end of the second season.
