PSG recruits Chevaelier Echegini shines in the African Cup

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is stepping up its efforts to recruit Lucas Chevalier, the goalkeeper of the LOSC, in the context of a continuing uncertainty about the future of Gianluigi Donnarumma. Faced with the difficulties of extending contracts with the Italian international, the Parisian club seriously considers Chevalier as a potential replacement. This approach is accelerated after a Galatasaray offer for Donnarumma, and the PSG has already initiated concrete negotiations with Lille for a transfer estimated at €40 million. Chevalier, enthusiastic about joining the champion of Europe, would have already given his agreement to the club, and a five-year contract would be offered to him as part of an ambitious sporting project, approved by coach Luis Enrique. Lille, for its part, is preparing to lose its guardian and is already exploring avenues abroad.

At the same time, rumours have emerged about Fenerbahçe’s interest in two PSG players, Milan Å kriniar and Marco Asensio, as part of José Mourinho’s arrival. Although the Turkish club did not confirm the names, this information seems to indicate a willingness of the PSG to unload its staff. Negotiations with Fenerbahçe are progressing, with a potential agreement of around EUR 15 million for Asensio. This situation comes as the PSG seeks to secure the goalkeeper position, and discussions with Donnarumma remain blocked. The club thus seems ready to favour an alternative solution to ensure continuity in this strategic position.

Finally, a new highlight for the PSG came from the African Women’s Nations Cup. Jennifer Echegini, midfielder of the Parisian club, scored the decisive goal in the final, allowing Nigeria to win its 10th continental title against Morocco. After leading 2-0 to half-time, the Super Falcons made a spectacular uphill climb, Echegini being the author of the goal equalizer and victorious. Arriving at the PSG in the summer of 2024, Echegini quickly established himself as a key player, and this victory in the final is a personal consecration that reinforces his position as one of the best African players of his generation.
