David Relaunches LOSC with a Doubted Face to AJ Auxerre
Lille – Jonathan David scored points for LOSC last Sunday, scoring a double in a convincing win over AJ Auxerre (3-1). The performance not only restored confidence in the team, but also stressed the importance of collaboration within the Lille attack.
The game started on the wheel hats, with a quick goal from Thomas Meunier (10′). However, the AJ Auxerre did not resist long, Jonathan David opening the score with a goal in full lucarne (43′) and concluding the first period with another goal (90+5′).
David’s performance was particularly appreciated by his duo partner, Chuba Akpom. The presence of Chuba helped, especially against a five-party defense. In a duo, there are two numbers 9 that can score, run deep, weigh in the surface. He is one more player on which they must be attentive, looking at every moment. This leaves more space for him as for me," said Akpom.
The LOSC, led by Bruno Genesio, dominated the game, with collective play phases and rapid transitions. Despite a goal from Alexsandro (90+2′) for AJ Auxerre, the Lille team retained its advantage.
The victory allowed LOSC to temporarily regain fourth place in Ligue 1, at a point on the podium. However, Bafodé Diakité had a yellow card, making it unavailable for the match against the Marseille Olympian.
