MHSC aims at Yann Lienard Monegasque goaltender to strengthen his team

The Montpellier Hérault Sport Club (MHSC) expresses its interest in the young goaltender of AS Monaco, Yann Lienard, as part of the search for a new doorman. This step was taken following the transfer of Benjamin Lecomte to the Fulham FC, a Premier League club, after several seasons at the MHSC. The Montpellierrain club, relegated to Ligue 2, is actively exploring options to strengthen its workforce, and 22-year-old Yann Lienard is identified as a priority target.

According to information reported by The Team, discussions between the leaders of MHSC and AS Monaco on a one-season loan would be well advanced. This loan would be without purchase option, indicating a willingness to test the player before considering a definitive transfer. Yann Lienard, trained in Monaco, is still under contract with the Monegasque club until 30 June 2027.

This potential arrival of Yann Lienard represents a strategic investment for the MHSC, aimed at stabilizing the goalkeeper position and ensuring continuity in the team’s construction. The club hopes that the young Monegasque talent will be able to integrate quickly and bring its experience and potential to the Montpellier team, thus contributing to their goal of returning to Ligue 1.
