Union Berlin-Stuttgart: A game of 8 goals!

An amazing match between the Union Berlin and the VfB Stuttgart: Eight Goals and a Doubt of Andrej Ilic

Berlin, Germany - An unforgettable sporting Saturday saw the Union Berlin and the VfB Stuttgart face in a spectacular match, marked by a record eight goals. The Union Berlin, newly arrived in Bundesliga in 2019, was arguing its 100th meeting at home during this meeting.

The match started beating drum when Andrej Ilic, lent by LOSC, opened the score from the 5th minute. This Serb, in full shape in 2025, doubled the bet a few minutes later thanks to Leite (19th minute). However, the VfB Stuttgart responded quickly, reducing the gap thanks to two distant strikes by Deniz Undav (23th minute) and Enzo Millot (29th minute).

After a short break, the Union Berlin regained its advantage thanks to a goal from its defensive leader, Querfeld on corner (39th minute). Nevertheless, the VfB Stuttgart reversed the situation with goals of Chabot (43rd minute) and Fรผhrich (45+1th minute). Just before half-time, Andrej Ilic achieved a real burst of shine, equalizing at the last second (45+4th minute) thanks to a resumption of a stop.

The intensity of the match reached its climax, with eight goals scored in just 45 minutes, a record unprecedented in the history of the Bundesliga, dating back to 1962. Even the second half maintained an exceptional level of performance, although the defenses eventually took over the attacks.

Despite the Union Berlin’s domination, no other goal was scored, and both teams left on a 4-4 score. “For five or six weeks, we have been playing football we want. I am glad that we have already managed to maintain ourselves in the championship. All we have to do is play properly,” said Christopher Trimmel, captain of the Union Berlin, in an interview at Sky Sport.

Andrej Ilic, author of a double (25 years) and recording five achievements in 12 appearances in the Bundesliga this season, confirms his integration in Germany, where the media have been praiseful for several weeks. The Union Berlin currently ranks 13th in the standings with 35 points, while 13 points separate Berlin’s roster from the first relegable (Heidenheim, 22 pts).
