Saint-Étienne triumphs in Ploufragan and restructures his team

The AS Saint-Étienne won the goal shots against Hamburg SV in the Ploufragan tournament, thus securing his place in the final. After a promising course with victories against Caen and a draw against PSG, the team, led by Sylvain Gibert, managed to overcome an intense match against Hamburg, which had achieved a perfect course so far. Despite a return of the Germans and an equalization in the additional time, the Greens triumphed in the penalty session, with a decisive stop by Alexis Colombet and the winning shot by Jules Mouton. The final, between ASSE and Stade Rennais, will be broadcast live on RMC Sport, Twitch and YouTube.

At the same time, AS Saint-Étienne continues to restructure its workforce. The young defender Beres Owusu, trained at the club, will join the Graz AK in Austria via a loan with purchase option. This decision, motivated by the desire to play regularly and gain experience, also allows the ASSE to reduce its defensive strength. This loan represents an opportunity for Owusu to flourish in a competitive championship, while for Saint-Étienne, it offers a solution to manage the depth of his team while maintaining a possibility of return.

This season, many former AS Saint-Étienne players will now evolve for other clubs, testifying to the rich course of many talents trained or who have marked the club. Famous names like Lucas Calodat, Kazim Suljic, Dylan Durivals and Kilian Jussero are now based outside, but other iconic figures like Anthony Briançon, Victor Lobry and Thomas Moiconduit will come back to face the Greens. In addition, last season the Montpellier HSC will be able to count on a staff and well-known players of the Stéphanois fans, including coach Zoumana Camara, former ASSE central defender, as well as Falaye Sacko and Nathanaël Mbuku.
