LOSC prepares for a turbulent end of the season despite an important victory
The Club de Sport de Lille OSC (LOSC) is aware of the upcoming changes in its workforce as it approaches the end of the season. Like many Ligue 1 clubs, the DOGE is about to experience a period of movement, including the departure of players at the end of the contract and transfers. Despite this reality, the team, led by Bafodé Diakité, is determined to continue its work with determination.
Last Sunday, at their reception of the AJ Auxerre (3-1), the LOSC demonstrated its strength and resilience. The goals of Thomas Meunier (10′) and Jonathan David (43′, 90+7′) allowed the team to win. Bafodé Diakité, visibly satisfied, acknowledged the difficulties encountered with the goal conceded against his camp (90+2′), but stressed the importance of the strength displayed by the team and the final goal that sealed the victory.
“We’re getting into a little bit of trouble with that goal against our side, but well, that’s just what excited people around the game. Even during this period of floating, we were able to remain solid and, in the end, mark this goal that kills all hope. We’re happy,” said Bafodé Diakité.
This victory allowed the LOSC to earn three precious points in the podium race, where it now ranks fourth. If the team wins its last four games, it is sure to reach at least third place.
Bafodé Diakité expressed satisfaction with this accounting reality, stressing that it only needs to focus on its own performance. “As everyone has seen, it’s going to be a season ending full of emotions, with a lot of clubs on their elbows. Winning today (Sunday) was important and we managed to do it. Now we can count on ourselves and not on others. I think that’s why we can stay focused and try to get the most out of it. We no longer have to wait for the results of the other teams,” he analysed.
The Lille workforce is aware of the changes ahead, including the departures of players at the end of the contract and transfers. The team sees this as a strength and wishes to make the most of its last weeks together. “There is this desire to have an exciting end to the season. We know that within a few weeks, at the end of the season, there will be different departures or situations for some. So we think that from there we have to give the maximum to continue enjoying all together, try to go all the way together,” concluded Bafodé Diakité, while stressing the importance of giving the best of ourselves.
