Olympique Lyonnais has strengthened its summer staff with several new recruits, including Pavel Sulc, a Czech offensive medium from Viktoria Plzen for 7.5 million euros, taking the iconic number 10. This acquisition is part of a renewal strategy, offsetting the departures of Gift Orbรกn and Lucas Perricone, as well as the search for new incumbents for the positions of central defenders and defence circles. The arrival of Sulc, together with Tyler Morton, an English defensive midfielder, and possibly Dominik Greif, a goaltender, demonstrates an effort to boost the team and strengthen its offensive and defensive potential.
Tyler Morton, 22, is described as a promising player, having evolved into the Liverpool training centre and gaining experience in Championship with Blackburn and Hull City. He is praised for his pass quality, his ability to stand out and his game intelligence, partly recalling his team-mate Tanner Tessmann. His profile is considered a “good deal” and he is expected to quickly join the French championship. However, some aspects of his game, including his ball recovery and dynamism, still require work.
At the same time, OL are actively looking for a goaltender to replace Lucas Perricone, targeting in particular Dominik Greif, the Spanish goaltender of Mallorca. The player would be interested in a transfer to Lyon and would already have a five-year contractual agreement. However, the negotiations between the two clubs are complex, with Spaniards claiming compensation of 5 to 6 million euros, while Lyon offers a lower sum. Competition is intense, with Lille also interested in Greif. Pending a final resolution, OL plans to rely on Rรฉmy Descamps for the first Ligue 1 games.
