Rivère leaves the Bocquet Presidency at the head of the GOC Nice

After fourteen years at the head of the OGC Nice, Jean-Pierre Rivère left as president of the club, leaving the place for Fabrice Bocquet. This change of direction, which occurred in the summer, marks the end of an era for the Azurian club. Arrived in 2011, Jean-Pierre Rivère profoundly transformed the OGC Nice, moving from a team fighting for its retention in Ligue 1 to a team regularly present at the top of the standings, including seven European Cup qualifications over these fourteen seasons. The management stressed that Jean-Pierre Rivère would remain involved in the club by becoming President of the Fonds de Dotation of the GOC Nice.

The appointment of Fabrice Bocquet as President and CEO of the GOC Nice, announced by INEOS, is a continuation of the project carried out in recent years. Fabrice Bocquet, managing director of the club since 2022, will now have the overall responsibility of the OGC Nice. Jean-Pierre Rivère expressed his gratitude to those who accompanied him and stressed the initial ambition of his mandate: to position the club in the first part of the picture and ensure its European qualification, while finding an investor for its development. He said he was serene for the future of the club and was pleased with the appointment of Fabrice Bocquet, accompanied by Florian Maurice and Franck Haise.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, owner of INEOS, affirmed the absolute commitment of INEOS to the Nice GOC and the confidence given to Fabrice Bocquet to continue the club’s development. He praised Fabrice Bocquet’s ability to drive the club with rigor, vision and leadership, and to lay the foundation for a forward-looking, efficient organization. Fabrice Bocquet expressed his responsibility for this new mission and his commitment to this mission with humility. His official appointment, scheduled for 20 August, marks a turning point in the management of the Nice GOC.
