PSG and LOSC running for goaltender Lucas Chevalier a succession strategy in preparation

Paris Saint-Germain prepares to strengthen its staff with the potential arrival of Lucas Chevaelier, currently goaltender of the LOSC. According to information provided by Foot Mercato, the Parisian coach, Luis Enrique, had a personal interview with Chevaelier to introduce him to the club’s sports project. This proposed transfer is in the context of a possible departure of Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose contract renewal is uncertain due to an insufficient salary offer and the interest of several European clubs. Faced with this uncertainty, the LOSC has already begun to prepare Chevaelier’s succession.

The LOSC turned to Robin Roefs, 22-year-old Dutch goaltender at NEC Nijmegen, as the main candidate to take over. This young goaltender, already international Espoirs, is considered a priority target by the Lille club. Negotiations would be well advanced, but their conclusion is conditional upon confirmation of Chevaelier’s transfer to the GMP. Roefs is seen as a talented doorman with strong potential, capable of evolving to a high European level in the years to come.

However, other avenues are also explored by the LOSC. Although Guillaume Restes is recognized as a promising young French goalkeeper, his current lack of regularity could make him less privileged to take up the number one position in a team that will participate in the Europa League this season. The current LOSC priority therefore appears to lie in securing Robin Roefs’ arrival, pending the outcome of Chevaelier’s situation at the PSG.
