Olympique Lyonnais (OL) is actively exploring the possibility of grabbing a player on loan from Manchester City. This is part of a context where offensive options to replace Rayan Cherki, recently sold to the English club, are limited. OL had already established a verbal agreement with Manchester City for a loan from one of their players during the Cherki transaction. From now on, the Lyon club turned to the defensive sector, and one player in particular caught their attention.

According to the information of the English journalist Ben Jacobs, OL has shown an interest in the right side Issa Kaboré. This burkinabè international player has just gone through a turbulent season, marked by two consecutive loans to Benfica Lisbon and Werder Bremen. During his time in Bremen, he played 16 games in all competitions, contributing with 2 assists. OL will, however, face significant competition to recruit Kaboré, with the interest of Southampton and Hamburg SV, who have already made proposals to the English club.

OL’s ability to recruit Issa Kaboré is conditioned by financial restrictions imposed by the National Management Control Directorate (DNCG). To finance this potential acquisition, the club will probably have to resolve to sell one of its players, such as Ainsley Maitland-Niles, courted by Galatasaray, or Saël Kumbedi. Kaboré is a familiar name for Ligue 1 fans, having already evolved at Troyes and the Olympique de Marseille, where he totaled 53 appearances, 1 goal and 2 assists.
