LeRC Lens makes a cross on M’Bala Nzola
Belgian RC Lens coach Will Still decided to stop counting on M’Bala Nzola to finish the season. Weary of the lack of professionalism of the 28-year-old Angolan striker, Still chose to explore other options to strengthen his team.
Nzola was defeated in the RC Lens victory against Stade Brestois. Still told The Team that this decision was due to an overall lack of investment by the attacker.
“The first time I pulled him out of the band was because there had been delays on a large part of the season,” says Still. “I explained that it could happen once or twice, but at the end of the third, it became difficult to explain it to others. There is a team to live on, rules in force at the club.”
Still also referred to Nzola’s disappointing performance on the ground: “I left him in Brest unrelated to his delays. He didn’t do enough shopping, didn’t put enough intensity, didn’t put enough investment. We showed him the stats. It was really concrete.”
Unsurprisingly, Nzola’s purchase option will not be lifted for the RC Lens. Angolais should therefore return to the Fiorentina, but he should not stay there for long, since the Viola does not count on him.
However, Nzola could stay in Italy, because La Spezia seems interested in the idea of recovering it in the event of a climb in Serie A.
