Olympique Lyonnais formalized the arrival of Tyler Morton, a midfielder in Liverpool, following a successful medical visit. The 22-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the club, worth 10 million euros, plus potential bonuses of 5 million euros and an interest of 20% on any added value. Morton, trained in Liverpool and having already had successful loans in Championship, arrives in Lyon to save time and confirm his potential, in line with the club’s strategy to strengthen his field environment. Liverpool retains a share in the future of the international English hope.
In parallel with this signature, OL continues its efforts to strengthen its workforce, especially in the absence of a goalkeeper. The club made a new offer of 3 million euros for Domรญnik Greif, goaltender of the Real Majรณrque, but it was refused. The Spanish club awaits โฌ6 million to sell its player, which is at the end of the contract in 2026. Negotiations are still under way, with Greif already having an agreement in principle with Lyon for a five-year contract. Lille OSC, also interested in the Slovak guard, reportedly made a higher offer than OL.
This arrival of Tyler Morton is part of a series of reinforcements for OL during this summer mercato, following the signatures of Nicolas Tagliafico and Pavel Sulc. The club, which recently lost Lucas Perri, seeks to consolidate its field environment and to find a guard, as well as an offensive reinforcement. However, OL, confident of the success of this case, will have to face competition from other clubs, notably Lille, to secure Tyler Morton’s services.
