Lens restructures its workforce: extensions and uncertainties

The Lansois club began a period of readjustment of its staff, beginning with the extension of Jonathan Gradit’s contract for two additional seasons. The management is currently working on several issues, including those of Malang Sarr, Wesley Said, Florian Sotoca and Adrien Thomas, all linked to the club until 2026. After a period of departure marked by the sales of Elye Wahi and the departures of Danso, Khusanov, Samba, Frankowski and Pereira Da Costa, the club looks at the future of many players, seeking to optimize its team composition while managing existing contracts and recruitment opportunities.

A thorough review of the workforce reveals a variety of situations. Several players, such as Nampalys Mendy, Denis Petric and M็š„Bala Nzola, will not be part of the Lens project next season, due to the end of their respective contracts or a lack of sporting and behavioural conviction. Other players, such as Facundo Medina, Angelo Fulgini and Hervรฉ Koffi, are at a turning point in their journey, with starting prospects for Fulgini and Koffi, while Medina’s fate remains uncertain. Martin Satriano’s loan also raises questions, and negotiations are under way on Juma Bah and Mathew Ryan, who have shown an interest in other opportunities.

Finally, several issues remain open and are the subject of debate within the club. Neil El Aynoui, Andy Diouf and Wesley Saรฏd are at the heart of strategic thinking about their future. While Lens wishes to retain Neil El Aynoui and some wish to retain Andy Diouf, the issue of extending Wesley Saรฏd’s contract, in order to avoid a free start, is at the centre of the discussions, stressing the complexity of the decisions to be taken for the future of the club.
