The ASSE is preparing for a trip to Boulogne-sur-Mer this weekend on behalf of the third day of Ligue 2. Prior to this meeting, João Ferreira, the right side of the Stéphanois team, shared his impressions of his integration into the club. He stressed the warm welcome of his teammates, facilitating his adaptation and strengthening the sense of belonging. The presence of Chico Lamba, a teammate sharing the same language and culture, was also seen as a major asset to feel comfortable and facilitate communication on the ground. Ferreira also expressed his surprise at the size of the Stéphanois club, especially the unique atmosphere of the Chaudron, in comparison with the Portuguese stadiums he was able to attend.
At a press conference, ASSE coach Eirik Horneland addressed the issue of injury within the team. He announced an improvement for Maxime Bernauer, who should be able to resume the competition by the end of the month, potentially in the match against Grenoble. Concerning Djyliian, his return is more uncertain and will require more time. Horneland also referred to the delicate situation of Benjamin Bouchouari, whose back remains a source of concern. Although he may be able to retake the race next week or the following week, he will miss physical conditions after missing the pre-season games. The coach expressed his wish to retain him, stressing his importance and positive development during the last half season.
Finally, Benjamin Bouchouari’s situation is actively followed by several clubs, including PAOK, which presents itself as a serious track after Trabzonspor has retreated. The Greek club, eager to strengthen its field environment, considers the Moroccan terrain as an alternative of choice. Despite the interest of several teams, Bouchouari’s future remains uncertain, and the Stéphanois club will have to make a decision taking into account its own objectives and the will of the player.
