RC Lens targets Erabi as a risky bet for attack

After a last season marked by offensive difficulties, RC Lens turned to the mercato to reinforce its attack. The main objective is to recruit an attacker able to score regularly, in addition to the expected returns of Martin Satriano and Morgan Guilavogui. Despite these potential reinforcements, a “real killer” in front of the goal is seen as indispensable to improve the team’s offensive effectiveness. This situation fuelled a rumour about the young Swedish attacker Jusef Erabi, 22 years old and currently playing at the Hammarby IF.

The interest of RC Lens in Jusef Erabi, relayed by Mohamed Toubache-Ter, is particularly notable since the possible departure of Goduine Koyalipou to Spain. Although he has already represented Sweden in the youth teams, Erabi has not yet demonstrated an exceptional offensive potential. His championship statistics are modest, with only 8 goals in the 2024 season and only 3 goals in 14 games so far in 2025. The club’s sports management, led by Jean-Louis Leca, however, seems to have identified a potential for this player.

However, the acquisition of Jusef Erabi represents a financial risk bet. Its contract with the Hammarby IF runs until December 2026 and its present value, estimated at €6 million by Transfermarkt, could constitute a substantial investment. The purchase of this player, although potentially beneficial in the long term, raises questions about his ability to integrate and perform at the professional level, given his current statistics. The decision to recruit Erabi will therefore be a key element in the RC Lens offensive strategy for next season.
