RC Lens aims at Thierno Ballo to strengthen his attack in difficulty

RC Lens is questioning the acquisition of a new attacker to make up for Goduine Koyalipou’s departure for Levante. Although information suggests that no recruit would be considered without another start, the sports management, under the direction of Jean-Louis Leca, actively explores different profiles of versatile players. The main objective is to find a player able to boost the attack, like Loïc Openda, while having the ability to play on the left wing, a necessity given the current difficulties of Anass Zaroury to convince Pierre Sage.

To this end, RC Lens expressed its interest in Thierno Ballo, a 23-year-old Austrian international currently operating at Wolfsberger AC. Formed in Austria and passing through Chelsea FC, Ballo has distinguished himself in the last two seasons in Austrian Bundesliga by its versatility, which can evolve both as a support attacker and on the wings. His recent performances are remarkable, with 26 goals and 12 assists in 67 games, demonstrating his progress and his desire to join a more prestigious championship.

Although no official offer has yet been made, the presence of his compatriot Samson Baidoo could facilitate negotiations with Thierno Ballo. Kevin Danso’s possible involvement could also play a role in the realization of this recruit. Thierno Ballo, whose contract with Wolfsberger AC runs until 2027, seems ready to take a new stage in his career and join a high-level club like RC Lens.
