Olympique Lyonnais could strengthen its ranks with the arrival of Paul Akouokou, an Ivorian international midfielder. After initially refusing a Real Zaragoza offer, the 27-year-old agreed to join the Spanish club, currently 19th in the LaLiga2 championship. This transfer would be in the form of a loan, with an option to purchase for OL in case of promotion of Zaragoza in Liga. The Spanish club would pay half of its annual salary of €600,000. Arriving in Lyon in September 2023 for 3 million euros, Akouokou failed to win, having played only 14 games all over the world, including important Europa League matches.
At the same time, Toulouse FC must concede the arrival of Gift Orbán to the Hellas Verona. The Nigerian striker, who was targeted by the TFC to reinforce his attack, finally opted for a loan with option of purchase from the Italian club. Orbán, 23, came from Hoffenheim where he scored 4 goals in 13 games in the second half of last season. He also moved to Olympique Lyonnais between January 2024 and January 2025, taking part in 21 matches and scoring 5 goals.
Hellas Verona announced the arrival of Gift Orbán, welcoming his talent and wishing him success in his new adventure. This transfer marks the end of Toulouse FC’s interest in the attacker, who had already worn the colours of OL. The arrival of Orbán in Verona is all the more notable as he will find Amin Sarr, also passing through Lyon. The Italian club, currently 10th in Serie A, hopes that the attacker will make a significant contribution to his team.
