Succession to the Roma : Totti courtises Ancelotti and De Zerbi

Claudio Ranieri’s imminent departure at the end of the season marks the conclusion of a successful career for the Italian coach, leaving the AS Roma facing the need to find a successor. Although the Roman team has regained a positive momentum following Ranieri’s return to the bench, this period of re-emergence promises to be temporary, paving the way for a significant transition for the club. The question of the identity of the next technician is now at the heart of the concerns, generating intense speculation and fuelling the expectations of the supporters.

Francesco Totti, an iconic figure of the club and living legend, expressed his preference for the profile sought to take over the team. The former captain, during an interview with Fabrizio Romano, showed his interest in Carlo Ancelotti, stressing the opportunity for a return of the Italian tactician, whose passion for the Louve is well known. At the same time, Totti also referred to Roberto De Zerbi, currently at the helm of the Olympique de Marseille, as an attractive option, welcoming his undeniable qualities and clear vision of the formation of a competitive team.

Despite persistent speculation, Roberto De Zerbi strongly refuted rumours linking him to other clubs, including AC Milan, reaffirming his commitment to the Marseille project over the long term. The Italian tactician stressed that no discussion had taken place with other institutions, thus demonstrating his willingness to continue his work at the Olympique de Marseille and suggesting a possible ongoing collaboration with the Phocรฉan club.
