PSG Mercato: Kolo Muani departure and youth reinforcements

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is actively involved in several mercato movements. The club seeks to separate from Randal Kolo Muani, a player bought from the Eintracht Frankfurt for more than 90 million euros in 2023, despite the initial high expectations. After an impressive season in the Bundesliga and participation in the 2022 World Cup, the young attacker no longer appears in the plans of the PSG, who wants to sell it. Several renowned clubs, including the Juventus and the Newcastle United, are interested in his profile. Newcastle, in particular, is looking for a replacement for Alexander Isak and has made the French international a priority. Concrete discussions are underway between the two clubs.

At the same time, the PSG reinforced its defence with the arrival of 22-year-old Ukrainian central defender Illia Zabarnyi from Bournemouth. The transfer, estimated at about €67 million, will take five years. This recruit is part of Luis Enrique and Luis Campos’ desire to build a young team. In addition, the club secured the services of Lucas Chevalier, French international goaltender, for a five-season contract. Chevalier, who was voted the best Ligue 1 goaltender last season with the LOSC, is considered an important blow for the PSG and could join the team quickly, potentially for the European Supercup.

Finally, the atmosphere within the team is palpable, especially around the question of Ballon d’Or. Vitinha publicly expressed his admiration for Ouïsman Dembélé, the most deserving player this year, because of his crucial role in the victory of the European title. Dembélé, already praised by his teammates and coach Luis Enrique, is perceived as an essential player and has conquered the hearts of his partners. The arrival of Chevalier and the maintenance of Dembélé testify to a strategy focused on youth and the construction of a successful team for the coming seasons.
