OGC Nice: Titanic Challenge Against Paris

GOC Nice facing Paris Saint-Germain: a major challenge for the Aiglons

This Friday, the OGC Nice travels on the Paris Saint-Germain lawn as part of the 31st day of Ligue 1. The Niçois faced an undefeated opponent in the championship, a complex task for Franck Haise players.

The Aiglons ended their negative spiral last weekend with a victory over Angers. However, this meeting was not perfect for the Nice GOC, which conceded a goal due to a mistake in reviving Youssouf Ndayishimiye. Nevertheless, this success allowed the Niçois to return to 5th place in Ligue 1 and to re-launch their race in European places.

The next challenge for the Nice GOC will be higher with a trip on the Paris Saint-Germain lawn this Friday evening. The Aiglons will have to face an undefeated opponent in the championship since the beginning of the 2024/25 season. However, the feat is not impossible: last year under the orders of Francesco Farioli, the OGC Nice had succeeded in defeating the PSG at the Parc des Princes (3-2).

Unfortunately, the bad news of the week for OGC Nice is the absence of the Brazilian captain for this game. Injured in the knee, he joined Tanguy Ndombele in the infirmary. The middle of the field is always embarrassed by its pubalgia and its case questions internally. The club would push for an operation, but the player would not support this option.

Opposite them, Paris Saint-Germain dominates this championship with an iron hand with 23 points ahead of his dolphin. Champion of France already sacred, the eyes are now turned towards the Champions League where the men of Luis Enrique will play the semifinals against Arsenal.

OGC Nice receives Montpellier HSC to strengthen its position on the podium

This Sunday, OGC Nice receives Montpellier HSC as part of the 23rd day of Ligue 1. The Niçois want to strengthen their place on the podium of the championship and continue their race towards European places and the Champions League.

The OGC Nice is already in this race and must keep its high pace to stay tied with its Monegasque neighbour. Last weekend, Jonathan Clauss’ team-mates won the game on Le Havre Lawn (3-1) despite a match hanging up to the last minutes.

At home, OGC Nice remains a favourite and still hasn’t lost any match in the championship this season, like Paris Saint-Germain. The Allianz Riviera is built as a stunning fortress for the Aiglons.

During the game going between the two teams, Gaëtan Laborde’s teammates had been hooked up to the Mosson (2-2). A meeting in which the Niçois had led twice to the score. Fortunately, Franck Haise found much of his staff for this meeting, with only Terem Moffi and Morgan Sanson absent.

Montpellier, for their part, is experiencing a difficult season as a Ligue 1 red lantern. Téji Savanier’s club struggled for its retention in the elite of French football with three points behind Saint-Étienne, a barrister, and six on FC Nantes, the first non-relegable.

Last weekend, the Héraultese had fallen home in front of OL (1-4). For this meeting, Nice will align Bulka in goals, Ndayishimiye, Bombito, Dante and Clauss in defense, Boudaoui, Santamaria, Abdi in the middle of the field, Guessand, Laborde and Diop in attack. Montpellier will be led by Lecomte in the goals, with Chato, Meité, Kouyaté and Sainte-Luce in defense, Ferri, Chotard and Nzingoula in the middle of the field, Savanier and Coulibaly in attack, Delort being suspended for this game.
