Monaco triumphs against Metz Fati by a double

After a significant 5-2 victory over FC Metz in Ligue 1, Adi Hütter, AS Monaco coach, expressed his satisfaction, stressing the importance of this success after the setback in the Champions League. He particularly welcomed the decisive entry into play of Ansou Fati, author of a double, and the performance of Krépin Diatta, who returned from a long absence and showed character. Hütter pointed out that the team had managed to win despite a complex situation, while remaining aware that there is still room for improvement. He also addressed the caution he wishes to maintain regarding Fati, preferring to gradually integrate him into the game, given his past injury problems.

The start of Ansou Fati was a real turning point in the game. The young player scored his first goal in Ligue 1 with Monaco in just 38 seconds, a record of precocity since 2014. He then offered a double at the end of the match, being decisive for the Monegasque victory. Fati, already a scorer in his first Champions League game, quickly adapted to the competition and proved its value to the team. Its impact was particularly noticeable after its entry into the second period, replacing Paris Brunner.

Despite the victory, Hütter tempered the enthusiasm by pointing out that the team conceded two goals against a team in difficulty, which is not satisfactory. He highlighted the crucial role of the replacements, including Diatta and Ilekhena, who made the difference. The coach stressed the need not to rely solely on the score and to continue working to improve the team’s game. The victory against Metz is seen as an important success, but it must not mask the weaknesses that were exposed during the game.
