LOSC player Ethan Mbappé left the field on a stretcher during his team’s victory against Angers (0-2) last Sunday. Summer recruit of the year 2024, Mbappé experienced a season marked by recurring physical problems. A sprain at the end of the summer, pain in the adductors in September, a break in the quadriceps in October and a relapse in March sparked his season. On Sunday again, while he had entered the game at 72nd minute, he had to go out on stretcher five minutes later.
The LOSC coach, Bruno Genesio, mentioned Mbappé’s successful entry in the game against Toulouse the previous week. Last Sunday, however, at Raymond-Kopa Stadium, Genesio and club president Olivier Létang announced that Mbappé would not play the last three games of the season (OM, Brest, Reims) due to an injury to the left leg’s ischio-jamber.
This premature release in Angers ends Mbappé’s first season in Lille. Despite the injuries, the player seems determined to continue his difficult journey and become stronger. On his Instagram account, he published an ephemeral message in which he spoke of his resolve to fight despite the difficulties.
