Ancian decrypts athletes' mental preparation: special show not to be missed

Jean-Paul Ancian, an eminent specialist in the physical and mental preparation of athletes, will be the guest of the show “As long as there are Goneslundi” on April 14. Building on a rich and varied career, which led him to collaborate with prestigious teams such as Côte d’Ivoire, Stade Rennais and Nottingham Forest alongside Sabri Lamouchi, as well as with AS Saint-Étienne, Ancian will shed some pertinent light on the challenges of this end of the season where the qualifications for the European cups will be played both tactically and technically as well as on the mental resilience of the players. His perspective will be particularly valuable in analysing the teams most likely to qualify for the Champions League alongside Paris Saint-Germain.

Beyond his field experience, Jean-Paul Ancian is also a respected teacher, having taught physical and sports education at the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA) in Lyon. He holds multiple certifications, including a second degree state certificate, diplomas as a physical preparer from the University of Lyon and the Fédération française de football, as well as training in sport sophrology and mental preparation, he has a multidimensional expertise. His transition to the FNBP 01, Bourg-en-Bresse, where he served as assistant coach and then acting after Alain Pochaten’s departure in 2023, also testifies to his versatility.

Finally, the April 14 program promises an hour rich in exchanges, addressing the crucial issues of the physical and mental preparation of athletes, and of course, analyzing the match between Auxerre and Olympique Lyonnais that took place on the previous Sunday. Viewers will be able to watch this show live from 7 p.m. on the usual platforms: Youtube, Facebook, Twitch, Twitter and Lyon Capitale TV.
